Michigan State hockey finishes third in CCHA for the '93-'94 season

The 1993-94 Michigan State Hockey Team, under the leadership of Head Coach Ron Mason, concluded their season with an overall record of 23 wins, 13 losses, and 5 ties. Within the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), they secured a third-place finish with a conference record of 17 wins, 8 losses, and 5 ties.

Throughout the season, Michigan State faced a variety of opponents. Notable victories included triumphs over Illinois-Chicago on October 22nd and October 23rd with scores of 6-3 and 4-3 respectively. The team also claimed victory against Notre Dame on November 5th with a score of 3-0.

The team's performance was marked by several intense matches that went into overtime. On November 19th, they tied Miami with a score of 1-1 after overtime. A similar result occurred against Bowling Green on November 20th.

Despite some challenging games, such as their loss to Minnesota in the College Hockey Showcase on November 27th with a close scoreline of 5-6, the team showed resilience throughout the season.

Their journey in various tournaments included participation in the Great Lakes Invitational at Joe Louis Arena and the NCAA West Regional in East Lansing, Michigan. They ended their NCAA tournament run after facing UMass-Lowell on March 26th with a narrow loss at a scoreline of 3-4.
