In the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA), they recorded 26 wins, 3 losses, and 3 ties, securing both the regular season and playoff championships.
The team's achievements extended beyond the CCHA as they also emerged victorious in the Great Western Freezeout tournament. Their performance earned them a spot in the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals.

Notably, they secured victories against teams like Bowling Green and Boston College but faced defeats against Boston University during their NCAA quarterfinal matchup.
Their home games were held in East Lansing where they concluded their NCAA run after facing Boston University.
