MSU Rowing concluded its season with a seventh-place finish at the Big Ten Rowing Championships held on Devil's Lake. The team, led by first-year head coach Stacey Rippetoe, accumulated 62 points in the competition among eight conference teams.

Senior Lizzie Johnston received First Team All-Big Ten honors for her role as coxswain in the first varsity eight throughout the season. Graduate student Ella Kubas was named to the Second Team All-Conference, as selected by the league's coaches. Senior Carolynn Garner was recognized with MSU's Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.

"I'm very grateful to have worked for this 2024 team at Michigan State," Rippetoe expressed. "We had some ups and downs and I thought we showed some really gutsy racing. I'm really proud of the team for being willing to learn this year and being brave enough to give their best and see how it turned out."

Three Spartan boats secured sixth place finishes, including the prominent first varsity eight, which completed their race 15 seconds behind champions Michigan. Three other MSU boats finished in seventh place while one placed eighth.

The University of Michigan, ranked ninth nationally, claimed victory in the championship with a total of 189 points. Michigan State outperformed Iowa Hawkeyes who ended in eighth place with 54 points.

With this event marking the end of their collegiate rowing careers, 17 seniors will be graduating from MSU's program following the conclusion of the 2024 season.
