The 1968-69 Michigan State University hockey team, under the leadership of Head Coach Amo Bessone, concluded their season with an overall record of 11 wins, 16 losses, and one tie. In the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), they finished in sixth place with a conference record of seven wins, ten losses, and one tie.

Throughout the season, the Spartans faced several challenging opponents. Notable games included victories against St. Lawrence on November 28 with a score of 5-1 and a significant win against Colorado College on January 11 with a score of 5-1. The team also achieved notable success against rival Michigan, winning three out of four encounters during the season.

The roster featured Co-Captains Ken Anstey and Bob DeMarco leading players such as Bob Johnson, Bill Enrico, Charlie Phillips, Nelson DeBenedet, John Juntikka, Richard Duffett among others. The coaching staff was supported by Assistant Coach Alex Terpay and Trainer Clyde Stretch.

Michigan State's performance in tournaments included participation in the Great Lakes Invitational at Olympia Stadium in Detroit and the Big Ten Tournament in Madison. Their playoff run ended with a loss to Michigan Tech during the WCHA Playoffs held in Ann Arbor.

Coach Amo Bessone's team showed resilience throughout the season despite facing strong competition from teams like North Dakota and Denver. As they look forward to future seasons, building on this experience will be key for continued development and success.
