The 1928 Michigan State Hockey Team, led by Head Coach John H. Kobs, concluded their season with an overall record of 3 wins and 3 losses. The team secured victories against Battle Creek Independents twice, both with a score of 1-0 on January 25 and January 28. They also defeated Michigan with a close score of 2-1 on February 1.

However, the team faced defeats in the subsequent matches. On February 2, they lost to Marquette with a score of 1-5. Another match against Michigan on February 7 resulted in a loss with a score of 1-3. Finally, the team was defeated by Michigan Tech on February 15 with a score of 0-5.
