In a busy week for Michigan State cross country, the men's and women's teams are set to compete in two events. On Friday, October 18, selected team members will participate in the Bowling Green Invitational at the Mel Brodt Cross Country Course in Bowling Green, Ohio. The first race is scheduled for 4:30 p.m., featuring the women's 5k, followed by the men's 8k at 5:10 p.m.

The majority of the team will head to Madison, Wisconsin, on Saturday, October 19, for the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course. This event will see participation from some of the top teams in the nation. According to the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, 19 of the top-30 teams are expected to compete, including seven from the top ten. The Spartan women hold a No. 30 ranking in this poll while their male counterparts are receiving votes.

In Madison's women's "A" race over a distance of 6 kilometers (6k), Michigan State's contingent includes Katelyn Stewart-Barnett, Taylor Ewert and Sophia Lucki. Freshman Rachel Forsyth aims to build on her strong performance as MSU's top finisher during Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational earlier this month. This race kicks off at 11 a.m. Eastern Time (ET). Additionally, several Spartans will run in an open category race starting at 12:20 p.m.

For men’s competition over an eight-kilometer (8k) distance beginning around 11:40 a.m., experienced runners Andrew Nolan—who placed nineteenth previously—Alexander Penski and Tyler Pritchett lead their squad into action.

Meanwhile back eastwardly bound toward Ohio’s event site where Steve Price Women's six-kilometer (6K) segment launches proceedings come Friday afternoon; Bob Rothermel-hosted longer version follows shortly thereafter comprising approximately eight kilometers per course length-wise aspectually speaking all told inclusive thereof ultimately leading up towards November-first slated Big Ten Championships roundabouts timeframe wise altogether encompassing overall schedule context herein presented duly noted henceforth acknowledged accordingly therein stated fully realized herewith
