Michigan State women’s golf team ties for second at Tar Heel Invitational

Michigan State University's women's golf team finished in a tie for second place at the Tar Heel Invitational, which took place at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Spartans entered the final round leading but ended up with a score of 19-over par 859 after shooting a 10-over par 290 on the last day.

Duke University emerged victorious, climbing from fifth place to finish first with an even-par 280 in the final round and an overall score of 16-over par 856. Michigan State and Wake Forest both trailed by three shots. Host North Carolina secured third place with a score of 21-over par 861, while Tennessee completed the top five at 25-over par 865.

Senior Brooke Biermann led Michigan State's individual performances, tying for 11th place with a score of 5-over par 215. Fellow senior Katie Lu was one shot behind, finishing tied for 15th at 6-over par. Junior Taylor Kehoe and freshman Catalina Monroy both posted scores of 7-over par, tying for 19th place. Sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia concluded her rounds tied for 37th with an overall score of 11-over par.

The Spartans will conclude their Fall season at the Landfall Tradition event scheduled from October 25 to October 27 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
