Michigan State faced a challenging opponent on Friday, going up against No. 6 Oregon in Eugene. This marked the first time since 2019 that Michigan State played back-to-back opponents ranked in the AP Top 10, following their recent game against No. 3 Ohio State.

The game was Michigan State's first visit to Eugene since 2014 and continued their encounters with ranked Ducks teams. In their last meeting, the Spartans were defeated by the Ducks with a score of 43-27. The series between these two teams now stands at five wins for Oregon and three for Michigan State.

On offense, Michigan State scored at least one rushing touchdown for the fourth time this season. Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 10 of his 17 passes for a total of 154 yards and rushed a career-high of 12 times for an additional 29 yards. Graduate running back Kay'ron Lynch-Adams added another rushing touchdown to his record this season, ending the night with nine carries for 32 yards.

Junior tight end Jack Velling returned to Oregon after transferring from Oregon State and recorded six catches for 53 yards, tying his season-high receptions. Senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. extended his streak to at least one reception in each of the last 19 games.

Defensively, Michigan State managed multiple interceptions for the second time this season. Junior defensive back Malik Spencer secured his first career interception in the end zone during the first quarter. Redshirt-junior defensive back Charles Brantley also grabbed an interception, marking his third of the season.

Special teams saw redshirt sophomore punter Ryan Eckley deliver a strong performance with punts averaging over 44 yards per punt, including a long punt of 55 yards. Graduate placekicker Jonathan Kim maintained his perfect field goal record this season by scoring on a 42-yard attempt.
