Michigan State University's women's soccer team, ranked fifth nationally, is set to host the University of Michigan on Saturday, October 5 at DeMartin Stadium. The match will be available for streaming on B1G+.

MSU's women's soccer team has extended its unbeaten streak to 12 games this season. This includes a recent 2-2 draw against Ohio State and a 1-1 draw with Rutgers. With an 8-0-4 record, MSU shares the second-longest unbeaten streak in the NCAA with Iowa. Utah State leads with an 11-0-2 record. Graduate forward Meg Hughes has been instrumental for MSU, leading in points this season. Mackenzie Anthony and Justina Gaynor have also contributed significantly.

The Spartans have maintained a top-five ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Poll for six consecutive weeks.

Michigan's team is led by head coach Jennifer Klein and holds a 2-9-1 overall record this season. Junior midfielder Jenna Lang leads Michigan in scoring, while Stephanie Sparkowski has made notable saves as goalkeeper.

Historically, Michigan holds a slight edge over MSU in their series since both teams became varsity status programs in 1994. However, MSU has won the last two encounters between these teams.

Following the game against Michigan, MSU will travel to face Oregon and Washington on October 10 and October 13 respectively.
