Spartans wrap up week at M15 Ann Arbor ahead of ITA Regionals

Michigan State University's men's tennis team has concluded its participation in the M15 Ann Arbor tournament. This event served as the final preparation for the ITA Team Regionals, which Michigan State will host from October 10 to 14.

Senior player Josh Portnoy had a promising start by defeating Baratau with scores of 6-3, 6-2 in the first round of qualifying. He continued his success by winning against unattached Haviland with scores of 6-3, 5-7 [10-7], securing a spot in the Main Draw. However, Portnoy's run ended when he faced unattached Dickerson, losing 0-6, 2-6.

Sophomore Taym Alazmeh participated in both singles and doubles matches. In singles, he was defeated by unattached Thomson with scores of 3-6, 6–7. In doubles, paired with Martin, they lost to unattached Vance/Nefve with scores of 7-6, 6-7 [7-10].

Freshman Danial Rakhmatullayev made his debut at this tournament. He faced unattached Dickerson in the first round and was defeated with scores of 1-6, 3-6.

The Spartans are now preparing for their next competition at the ITA Regionals in East Lansing at MSU's Indoor Tennis Center from October 10 to 14.
