Michigan State's men's golf team concluded its participation in the Windon Memorial Classic on Monday, achieving its best round of the tournament. The event, hosted by Northwestern University, took place at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.

The 16-team field completed the second round on Monday morning after it was halted due to darkness on Sunday and then proceeded directly into the third round.

The Spartans recorded a score of 9-over par 293 in the final round, finishing in 16th place with an overall score of 51-over par 903 (307-303-293).

Arizona emerged victorious with a score of 12-under par 842 (279-284-279). Marquette secured second place at 7-under par 852, followed by Northwestern at 2-under par 852. Kansas finished fourth with a score of 4-over par 858, and USF rounded out the top five teams with a score of 6-over par 860.

Freshman Juan Velasquez was Michigan State's top performer, tying for 59th place with a score of 13-over par 226 (76-77-73), including a final round of 2-over par 73.

Sophomore Lorenzo Pinili had the team's best individual round on Monday with an even-par score of 71. He also tied for 59th place with an overall score of 13-over par 226 (76-79-71).

Junior Caleb Bond finished tied for 73rd place at 16-over par 229 (73-79-77), concluding with a final round of 6-over par 77.

Freshman Julian Menser tied for 83rd place at 19-over par 232 (86-74-72), while sophomore Lucas Acevedo finished in 85th place at 20-over par233 (82-73-78).

Michigan State will next compete in the Fighting Irish Classic at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana, on Sunday, October6 and Monday, October7.
