Michigan State honored former head coach Mark Dantonio during the game against Ohio State. Dantonio, the winningest coach in school history, received the National Football Foundation On-Campus Salute between the first and second quarters. He was joined by his family, MSU Vice President/Athletic Director Alan Haller, and members of both the National Football Foundation and the Rose Bowl. His name was also added to the Spartan Stadium Ring of Fame for becoming the latest Spartan in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Saturday's match-up marked the 53rd all-time meeting between Michigan State and Ohio State. The Buckeyes now lead the series 38-15, including a 20-5 record in East Lansing.

Michigan State's offense had a notable one-play, 12-yard scoring drive in the second quarter. This was their third scoring play in less than 10 seconds this season, tying Boise State for third in the country behind Navy and Utah. Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles completed 13 of 19 passes for 167 yards and one touchdown. Chiles has at least one touchdown pass in three of five games this season, totaling five TD passes.

Chiles connected with sophomore wide receiver Jaron Glover for a 12-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. It was Glover's first game back since missing two games due to injury. Glover finished with four catches for 53 yards, with two catches resulting in either a first down or touchdown.

Freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh returned after missing last week's game due to injury. Marsh caught two passes for 30 yards, both resulting in first downs. Sophomore tight end Brennan Parachek tied his career-high with two catches for a career-best 27 yards.

Senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. extended his streak of at least one catch to 18 consecutive games but recorded a season-low two catches.

Graduate running back Kay'ron Lynch-Adams led with nine carries for 35 yards while senior running back Nate Carter had six rushes for 27 yards.

On defense, Michigan State entered leading the Big Ten in sacks but did not record any against Ohio State. However, they managed three tackles for loss and an interception by senior linebacker Jordan Turner, who returned it for 36 yards setting up a touchdown on the next play.

Turner finished with nine tackles and half a tackle for loss. Junior defensive back Malik Spencer tallied seven stops and one pass break-up.

Special teams saw redshirt sophomore punter Ryan Eckley deliver punts of 58 and 55 yards as part of his five punts averaging 46.6 yards per punt. Graduate placekicker Jonathan Kim had two kickoffs that resulted in touchbacks.
