Michigan State senior women's golfer Brooke Biermann has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. This recognition follows her performance at the Mary Fossum Invitational, where she helped lead the Spartans to a second-place finish.

Biermann's efforts were highlighted by an 8-under par 64 in the final round, which propelled her to a runner-up individual finish. After two rounds, she was tied for third and five shots behind Caitlyn Macnab of Ole Miss, who set a tournament and course record with a 9-under par 63 in the first round.

Starting on the fourth hole, Biermann parred her first four holes before making birdies on the eighth and ninth holes. She continued with three consecutive birdies and five birdies over six holes. Her final birdie came on the third hole, leaving her just one shot short of tying for first place.

Biermann completed the tournament at 11-under par 205 (68-73-64). Her final round score of 64 is a personal best and ranks as the second-best 18-hole score in both Mary Fossum Invitational history and Michigan State University history. Her total score of 205 is also a personal best, marking the second-best score in tournament history and tying for the third-lowest 54-hole score in program history.

This marks Biermann's fourth career Golfer of the Week honor. The Spartans will next compete at the Tar Heel Invitational from October 11 to October 13 at the Governor's Club in Raleigh-Durham, N.C.
