Michigan State University (MSU) Athletics has a busy week ahead, spanning various sports and events from September 25 to October 1.

The women's soccer team, ranked No. 1 by the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, is set to face Ohio State on Thursday and Rutgers on Sunday. The team holds an impressive record of 8-0-2, marking the best start in program history.

In football, MSU will compete against Ohio State on Saturday night for their 53rd meeting. The Spartans aim for their first victory over the Buckeyes since 2015. The game will also honor former head coach Mark Dantonio for his inclusion in the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024.

Men's tennis kicks off its participation in the ITA All-American tournament on Wednesday with senior Max Sheldon among those representing MSU. Additionally, team members will play at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and M15 Ann Arbor over the next week.

The volleyball team begins Big Ten action with two away games this weekend. They will face Michigan in Ann Arbor on Friday and Penn State on Sunday. Last year, MSU reclaimed the State Pride Flag by defeating Michigan twice.

Men's soccer heads to California for a Friday match against UCLA, marking their first-ever meeting with the Bruins. On Tuesday, they host Northwestern while offering complimentary admission to educators presenting valid ID and celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.

Men's golf competes at the Windon Memorial at Conway Farms Golf Club in Illinois from September 29-30. Ashton McCulloch leads the team after recently achieving a score of 11-under par 205 at the Golf Canada Collegiate.

Women's tennis participates in the Toledo Rocket Invitational on Friday and Saturday. Freshman Ellie Blackford recently highlighted their performance with a win over an SEC opponent at last week's ITA Women's All-American Championships.

Field hockey returns to non-conference play this week with matches against Ball State on Sunday and Miami (Ohio) at home on Tuesday afternoon. The latter event will feature Faculty & Staff Appreciation with select faculty joining during starting lineups.
