Michigan State women’s basketball announces full schedule for upcoming season

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick announced the 2024-25 schedule on Thursday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference. Once again, the Spartans' women's basketball season is presented by MSUFCU.

MSU will play 16 games at the Breslin Center, beginning with an exhibition against Wayne State on Oct. 28.

For the fourth straight season, the Big Ten Conference will play an 18-game schedule. MSU also played an 18-game schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. The conference additionally had 18-game schedules in both 2015-16 and 2014-15. This season, the B1G adds four additional teams: Oregon, UCLA, USC, and Washington.

Nine of the Spartans' 2024-25 regular-season opponents competed in the NCAA Tournament last season. MSU will take on either Arizona or Vanderbilt in the Acrisure Classic. From the Big Ten portion of the schedule, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Ohio State, UCLA and USC reached the NCAA Tournament; Iowa advanced to the National Championship game.

The Spartans open the regular season with four straight home games beginning on Nov. 5 against Oakland. This is the second consecutive season that these two teams have met on opening day. Michigan State will then host Yale (Nov. 8) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 11). The Spartans will conclude their quartet of home contests against Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 14.

Michigan State's first road game will be at Western Michigan on Nov. 17 before hosting Detroit Mercy on Nov. 20. During Thanksgiving week, the Spartans will head to Palm Springs, California for the Acrisure Classic to face California on Nov. 26 and either Arizona or Vanderbilt on Nov. 27.

As December begins, MSU has a pair of home games against DePaul (Dec. 8) and Iowa (Dec.15) for their B1G opener before heading south for Florida’s West Palm Beach Classic from Dec.20-21.After a holiday break,the team ends its year at Maryland on Dec .29

In January,Michigan State hosts Purdue(Jan .1),then travels to Nebraska(Jan .8).They welcome Washington(Jan .12),before visiting Rutgers(Jan .15)and Illinois(Jan .19).The month concludes with three matches,two at home against Penn State(Jan .22)and Oregon(Jan .30),with one away match versus Michigan(Jan .25).

February starts with an away game at Northwestern(Feb .2),followed by two home games against Michigan(Feb .9)and Wisconsin(Feb .12).The team then embarks on a West Coast trip facing UCLA(Feb .16)and USC(Feb .19).The month wraps up with a home game against Indiana(Feb .23)and an away finale at Ohio State(Feb .26).

Senior Day celebrations are set for March1 when MSU plays Minnesota.The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled from March5-9 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.The Big Ten will announce game times later after TV selections.MSU returns seven players while welcoming eight newcomers this season.
