Michigan State's Aristotelis Thanos to play for Greece in Davis Cup

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State men's tennis junior Aristotelis Thanos has been selected to represent his home country of Greece in the Davis Cup Tie this weekend.

Thanos and Greece will be taking on Serbia, including World No. 4 Novak Djokovic, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13-14, at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Belgrade, Serbia.

The winner between Greece and Serbia will have the opportunity to compete in the 2025 Davis Cup matches leading to the Finals, while the loser will drop to World Group I.

This selection is Thanos' fourth appearance for Greece in the Davis Cup, having played in the 2022 World Group II Playoff in March of 2022 against Jamaica, the Davis Cup World Group I Playoffs in February of 2023 against Ecuador and the World Group Playoff in February of 2024 against Romania. Thanos is 3-0 in his previous three outings.
