East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State University announced its men's basketball non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 season on Tuesday afternoon. The schedule is highlighted by seven home games, participation in the Champions Classic, and a trip to Hawaii for the Maui Invitational.

The 11-game non-conference lineup includes seven potential opponents who competed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

Head Coach Tom Izzo will lead his team in two exhibition games to start the season. The first game will be at Northern Michigan on October 13, Izzo's alma mater. MSU will then host Ferris State on October 29.

The regular season begins with two home games at the Breslin Center: Monmouth on November 4 and Niagara on November 7.

The Spartans will travel to Atlanta for a matchup against Kansas in the Champions Classic on November 12 before returning home for two more games. They will host Bowling Green on November 16, which includes a visit from former Spartan Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn, now an associate head coach for the Falcons. This will be followed by a game against Samford on November 19 before heading to Hawaii.

In the Maui Invitational, MSU opens against Colorado on November 25. The winner of that game will face either UConn or Memphis in the second round (November 26) and one of four teams (North Carolina, Dayton, Iowa State, Auburn) in the final game on November 27.

After starting December with two Big Ten Conference games, Michigan State will play three more non-league games before month’s end. They will visit Little Caesars Arena for their annual matchup against Oakland on December 17.

MSU will host Florida Atlantic on December 21 and conclude their non-league schedule by hosting Western Michigan on December 30. Western Michigan is coached by former Spartan great Dwayne Stephens.
