Michigan State’s men’s golf team holds fourth place entering final round

East Lansing, Mich. – Led by senior Ashton McCulloch, who is in second place, Michigan State's men's golf team enters the final round of the third annual Folds of Honor Collegiate in fourth place among 15 teams at American Dunes in Grand Haven, Mich.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes on Wednesday.

The Spartans entered Tuesday's second round tied for second place and posted the third-best team score of the day with an even-par 284.

Alabama continues to lead the field at 5-under par 563, with Illinois in second place at 4-under par 564. Notre Dame is third at 2-over par 570 and the Spartans are in fourth place at 3-over par 571 (287-284). Texas rounds out the top-five teams at 5-over par 573.

McCulloch shot a 2-under par 69 on Tuesday and maintained his spot in second place at 6-under par 136 (67-69).

The Spartans have two other players among the top-20, with junior Caleb Bond tied for 14th place at 1-over par 143 (73-70) and sophomore Lorenzo Pinili tied for 17th place at 2-over par144 (73-71).

Freshman Julian Menser shot a6-overpar77onTuesdayandistiedfor41stplaceat8-overpar150(73-77)andclassmateJuanVelasquezbouncedbackwitha4-overpar75inthesecondroundandistiedfor59thplaceat14-overpar156(81-75).

The Spartans tee off on Wednesday at12:45p.m.on the first hole, playing alongside Texas and Florida State.
