Michigan State's men's golf team has returned to East Lansing after concluding the summer with a 10-day trip to Ireland, visiting Dublin and Belfast. The trip, which marked the start of the 2024-25 school year, included six rounds of golf at some of Ireland's most renowned courses: Jameson Links, Portmarnock Old, The Island, Royal County Down, Royal Portrush, and Portstewart.
"It was a great opportunity for our team and some of our loyal supporters to learn about such incredible places, experience different cultures, and play golf at some historic courses," Head Coach Casey Lubahn said. "From a team standpoint, it was a chance for our young team to grow and learn together in a unique environment."
The Spartans spent four days in Dublin starting on Friday, Aug. 16. During their stay in Ireland's capital city, the team played two rounds of golf and toured various sites. Their visit concluded with a match against Maynooth University on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Following their time in Dublin, the group traveled by bus to Belfast for another four-day stay. While there, they played at Royal County Down—considered one of the best courses globally—which was being prepared for the Irish Open.
