Michigan State's women's golf team has been ranked No. 13 in the country in preseason polls announced by The Golf Channel on Tuesday morning.

The Spartans are among five Big Ten teams ranked in the preseason top-25 by The Golf Channel, joined by USC (3), UCLA (4), Oregon (8), and Northwestern (10).

This is the highest Michigan State has been ranked in the network's preseason rankings since appearing at No. 16 prior to the 2019-20 season.

Senior Katie Lu, an All-Big Ten First Team selection last year, was named a preseason honorable mention All-American.

The Spartans finished tied for 17th place at the NCAA Championship last year and were No. 29 in the final Golf Channel rankings.

Michigan State opens the season playing in the inaugural women's portion of the Folds of Honor Collegiate from September 9-11 at the American Dunes Golf Course in Grand Haven.
