The Big Ten has announced the 2024-25 hockey schedule, providing Michigan State University (MSU) with a detailed roadmap for the upcoming season.
The schedule includes four games against each of the other six teams in the league. MSU will play neutral-site conference games against Wisconsin on January 4 at Wrigley Field and Michigan on February 8 in the annual "Duel in the D" game. The Spartans will host each of the other four teams twice at home and play twice on the road, with one home game against Wisconsin on January 2. Michigan will serve as the home team in this year's Duel in the D. MSU is set to play 16 home games at Mason Rink at Munn Ice Arena.
In October, MSU has three home games and four away games, including non-conference series at Lake Superior State (October 4-5) and Canisius (October 25-26). The Spartans open their home schedule on October 11 against national runner-up Boston College and will host them for a two-game set. Additionally, there is an exhibition game against Windsor on October 18 during homecoming weekend.
Most of MSU's November games are scheduled at home. They will face Ohio State (November 8-9) and Notre Dame (November 15-16) to start their Big Ten slate. The team travels to play against the US National Team Development Program on November 21 before concluding November with two games against Lindenwood after Thanksgiving, scheduled for November 29 and December 1.
December features road series at Wisconsin (December 6-7) and Minnesota (December 13-14) before a holiday break. MSU will participate in the Great Lakes Invitational at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on December 29-30.
January includes ten games starting with a home match against Wisconsin on January 2, followed by a game at Wrigley Field on January 4. Subsequent matches include a two-game set at Penn State (January 10-11), a home-and-home series with Michigan (January 17 in Ann Arbor and January 18 at Munn), hosting Minnesota (January 24-25), and an away series at Ohio State (January 30-31).
February begins with another set of matches against Michigan (February7at Munn Arenaand February8at Little Caesars Arena). After a bye weekend, MSU concludes its regular-season schedule with two final series: hosting Penn State(February21-22)and playing awayatNotre Dame(February28-March1).
The Big Ten tournament starts March8with best-of-three quarterfinals heldon campus sites.The semifinals(March16)and finals(March23)will concludethe tournament.
