Michigan State men's soccer opens the 2024 season with an exhibition at Butler on Monday, Aug. 12 at 6 p.m.

There will be no live stats or stream for the exhibition against the Bulldogs. The Spartans last faced the Bulldogs on Aug. 14, 2022, in an exhibition with Butler coming out on top, 1-0.

Last season, Michigan State went 0-1-1 in exhibition action with a tie against Purdue Fort Wayne and a loss to Pittsburgh. MSU went on to go 7-2-7 overall last season.

Earlier this month, junior Jonathan Stout was named United Soccer Coaches Midfielder to Watch, while redshirt-junior Zac Kelly captured USC Goalkeeper to Watch honors.

Michigan State welcomes eight newcomers this season, including true freshmen Jake Grekowitz, Oscar Huerta, Mohamed Saad and Jared Smid. The Spartans also welcome four transfers in Levin Gerhardt (CSUN), Michael Sly Jr. (Oakland), Shion Soga (South Florida) and Ryan Van De Winkle (Loyola Chicago).

The Spartans' final test will come against UIC on Friday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. at DeMartin Stadium. Admission is free for the exhibition.
