Michigan State rising senior women's golfer Katie Lu has been named a Third Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Lu is one of two Spartans to receive Academic All-America honors, alongside field hockey player Ashley Harlock, who was selected for the first team.

Lu, a finance major with a 3.931 grade-point average, earned her spot on the All-America ballot after securing Academic All-District honors in June.

As an All-Big Ten Conference First Team selection, Lu was the team's top finisher in seven events last season. The Spartans won one team event, achieved three runner-up finishes, and placed in the top-five in eight tournaments.

Lu posted personal best numbers and some of the best statistics in program history. She led her team with a scoring average of 71.54 last season—a career-best mark that ranks second all-time for a single season at Michigan State, just behind Sarah Burnham's record of 70.68 set in 2017-18.

Entering her senior year in 2024-25, Lu is ranked fourth all-time at Michigan State with a scoring average of 73.55.

During the past season, Lu won two events: she shot a 3-under par 213 to win the Mary Fossum Invitational on September 18 and carded a 5-under par 211 to share medalist honors with classmate Brooke Biermann at the Briar's Creek event on March 12. She joins an elite group of only twelve MSU players to win two events in one season and is the first since Burnham accomplished this feat in 2015-16.

Throughout the season, Lu finished among the top five in four events, placed within the top ten seven times, and secured top twenty positions eleven times out of thirteen events she participated in.
