East Lansing, Mich. - Three Spartan track & field athletes have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans. Katie Osika was named to the second team on the women's side, while Heath Baldwin and Andrew Nolan captured first and second team honors, respectively, on the men's side.

On July 9, graduate student Osika earned a 4.0 GPA in Communication. She is the first Spartan women's track & field athlete to capture All-American accolades since Jenna Magness was named to the third team in 2022. Osika is the sixth Spartan woman to be named to the CSC Academic All-American team.

Osika had another notable season for the Spartans, earning Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Year and leading the Spartans to their second-straight Big Ten Title. She is the sixth overall and first MSU athlete to win the award since 2014. During the outdoor season, she set a personal best in the 5000m at the Bryan Clay Invitational in April, finishing second with a time of 15:39.01.

On July 10, Baldwin and Nolan were honored on the men's side. Baldwin is the first men's track & field athlete to be named to the first team, while Nolan was the first to earn second-team honors. Overall, six men have been named Academic All-Americans. Baldwin had a 3.8 GPA in Marketing Research & Analytics, while Nolan earned a 4.0 GPA in Applied Engineering Science.

Baldwin continues accumulating accolades this season. Fresh off winning the decathlon at the U.S. Track and Field Championships, Baldwin adds another academic honor. He won the U.S. Championship in Eugene, Oregon on June 22 with a personal best decathlon score of 8,625 points. The graduate student was named Great Lakes Region Indoor and Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year.

Nolan finished second in the 3000m steeplechase at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships.
