Michigan State athletes recognized as Big Ten distinguished scholars for academic excellence

The Big Ten Conference has announced its list of 2023-24 Big Ten Distinguished Scholars. The class includes 132 honorees from Michigan State University, with 44 maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA during the eligibility period.

Established in 2008 by Big Ten Faculty Representatives, the Distinguished Scholar Award supplements the Academic All-Big Ten program. Recipients must have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition in the previous academic year, been enrolled full-time for the entire previous academic year, and achieved a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better, excluding summer grades. The Academic All-Big Ten threshold is a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for a student's academic career.
