From March 10, 2023 post

March 9th is National Slam the Scam day!

Here are four basic signs of a scam. 1. Don't be fooled by official-looking logos, seals, signatures, etc. Scammers pretend to be from agencies and organizations that seem familiar. 2. Often scammers mention a problem or offer some sort of reward in exchange for your personal information.3. Scammers make their requests feel urgent and threaten recipients with arrest or legal action.4. Scammers may tell you to transfer money to a safe account and will often tell you to pay using gift cards, prepaid debit cards, cryptocurrency, or by sending money in the mail.

Please pass these tips on to family and friends to keep them safe from scams.
