The #EastLansing Arts Commission is currently accepting applications for its FY23 Cultural Arts Grant program. The program supports high-quality public art projects that encourage artistic expression and public participation, with an emphasis on promoting cultural appreciation for the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Examples of FY22 projects/programs that received grants are pictured (info taken from FY22 grant reports is provided): an art installation at MI Blue Owl Coffee entitled "Blue People Art" by local artist Dedria Humphries Barker, the Pumpstock music festival in the Bailey Neighborhood, a "Community Darkroom 517" program and a "Queerbending at the Pumphouse" performance featuring three Queer musicians from East Lansing.
