City of East Lansing issued the following announcement on Mar 10.
Effective Monday, March 14, face masks will be optional for visitors and employees inside City of East Lansing buildings, with some exceptions.
The face mask requirement will remain in place in congregate settings where people are gathered, including public and employee meeting spaces. The face mask requirement will also remain in place for some classes, events and programs offered by the East Lansing Department of Parks, Recreation & Arts, including the Children’s Concert Series, Buddy Basketball and School Age Programs, including Before & After School and Break Care. Additionally, face mask requirements will remain in place for the East Lansing Public Library’s children’s programs and events.
Masking protocol may be different for emergency responders and other City staff who work in the field and may be required to enter privately owned homes or buildings for work. Temporary masking will also be required of employees approved to return to work from COVID-19-related quarantine or isolation.
This change in masking requirements is based on updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and State of Michigan. People can choose to mask at any time. For additional COVID-19 guidance, visit https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus or https://www.cdc.gov/.
