Charlotte Public Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 22.

The tradition of musical excellence continues at Charlotte

Members of the Charlotte High School Bands competed at Haslett HS on February 5th as part of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) Solo and Ensemble Festival. Forty-one CHS students performed in a total of thirty-four events. Of those thirty-four events, ten received Second Division ratings and twenty-four received First Division ratings and qualified for State Solo and Ensemble Festival with six of those events earning perfect scores (straight A’s) for their performances.

Several chamber ensembles also came back with top ratings. A duo consisting of Lillian Merrill and Selena Padilla earned a perfect score, while duets from Kennedy Hice and Jada Brown as well as Lydia Fletcher and Amelia Shepard, and Kira Gardner and Adam Cates also brought in First Division ratings.
