Michigan Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist (D) revealed in February that Jessica Brousseau will become his new chief of staff.
"I am so excited to welcome Jessica, a familiar face, as my new chief of staff," Gilchrist said in a statement. "Jessica brings years of experience in the executive office to the team, and I look forward to working with her to stand tall for Michiganders and deliver on the issues that matter most to working families, small businesses, and communities."
The state of Michigan's website said, "Brousseau has been on the Whitmer-Gilchrist administration's federal affairs team since day one. She served as senior deputy director of federal affairs, a key liaison between Michigan's congressional delegation and the administration."
Previously, Brousseau was director of policy and government affairs at a consulting firm and worked as an aide to Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-Mich.). Brousseau graduated from Albion College and received a master's degree in legislative affairs from George Washington University.
She has focused on Michigan's economic development, workforce, healthcare, and agriculture, according to the state's website.
In the same press release, the governor's office revealed that Heather Kevnick was named as director of public affairs.
