City of East Lansing issued the following announcement on Oct 13.
The popular annual Great Pumpkin Walk will bring trick-or-treat fun to downtown East Lansing on Sunday, Oct. 24.
Families are invited to bring their children to downtown East Lansing in full costume to receive free door-to-door treats from participating downtown businesses. Downtown trick-or-treating will take place from 1-4 p.m. (there is no starting point) and the event is free and open to the public. Parking will also be free in the downtown.
In addition to trick-or-treat fun with downtown businesses, the Great Pumpkin Walk will feature live entertainment in Ann Street Plaza, pumpkin painting and superheroes and princesses handing out candy and available for photo ops thanks to volunteers from MSU Royal Encounters. The live entertainment in Ann Street Plaza will include:
- A family-friendly Comedy Magic Show featuring local magician/comedian Cameron Zvara from 1-1:45 p.m.
- Live music featuring Pretty Jane & the Magazines (time TBD)
Community members can visit https://cityofeastlansing.com/Halloween for updates on the Great Pumpkin Walk and to learn about additional Halloween events and activities scheduled to take place in East Lansing. Halloween trick-or-treat hours in East Lansing’s residential neighborhoods are from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31.
