City of Midland recently issued the following announcement.
TRAFFIC ALERT: We are in the home stretch so hang with us just a bit longer, Midland! So, here's the deal - Wheeler Street will close to through traffic at Butterfield Drive beginning Monday, September 20, as crews perform water main work. This portion of Wheeler will remain open for eastbound traffic only starting Monday.
Residents should exit the area using Congress Drive, Whitewood, Brookfield, and Ardmore Streets. Through traffic will be detoured via Swede Avenue to Ashman Street to Waldo Avenue.
Wheeler Street will remain closed to through traffic on Tuesday, September 21, as the City of Midland Water Department makes the final water main connection at the US-10 ramp.
Traffic patterns will remain the same throughout the day. Trotters Point residents will need to exit the area using Butterfield Drive to Hollyberry Drive to Foster Road.
Weather permitting, the street will reopen to through traffic by the end of the day on Tuesday, September 21, with paving operations scheduled for the week of September 27.
