CITY OF WILLIAMSTON: Old Mill Park Construction Notice

Webp park 07

City of Williamston recently issued the following announcement.

OLD MILL PARK CONSTRUCTION NOTICE - Construction work will start this month to replace the wooden boardwalk with a new sidewalk and walking path along North Putnam Street and in Old Mill Park along the Red Cedar River. Two-way traffic will be maintained on North Putnam Street throughout the project, but traffic lanes will be shifted slightly to the east to allow for the construction activity to occur. A new crosswalk will also be installed just north of the intersection of North Putnam Street and High Street to connect Old Mill Park to McCormick Park.

During construction, the sidewalk/boardwalk on the west side of North Putnam Street from West Riverside Street to Old Mill Park will be closed to pedestrians. Pedestrians are encouraged to use the sidewalk on the east side of North Putnam Street. Construction activity is expected to last two to three months, weather depending. Thank you for your patience during this construction project.

This project is supported by a Transportation Alternatives Program grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation and a Public Spaces Community Places grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.
