Lansing Community College issued the following announcement on Dec. 9.
On Dec. 7, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services extended by 12 days its previous “Gatherings and Face Mask Order.” The order allows for face-to-face education in technical and health careers courses.
As a result, ALL Aviation Technology students should return to class on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at your regularly scheduled time. Students in Technical Careers programs who had labs paused should check their D2L site for instructions from faculty regarding your return to labs.
From the MDHHS emergency order issued Monday, Dec. 8:
5.f. Gatherings at trade schools and career schools are permitted for the purpose of providing technical education services, including manufacturing, industrial technology, trades, and cosmetology, but only to the extent that these activities cannot be completed remotely.
5.g. Gatherings at public and nonpublic schools for the purpose of delivering career and technical education services to pupils in grades 9 through 12 are permitted, but only to the extent that these activities are necessary to complete requirements for a recognized post.
