Candidates can refuse or return contributions for a variety of reasons. Contributions may be refunded, for instance, in the event that the candidate does not want to be affiliated with a contributor, a contribution exceeds legal limits, or the candidate withdraws from a race.
Stabenow 2012 Victory Fund has refunded $12,000 total since the beginning of the year.
